The Clifton Montpelier Powis Community Alliance and the churches of St Michael’s and St Nicholas together create an annual arts festival in the heart of our community.  The Clifton Montpelier Powis Festival - a community arts festival began in 2007 as a celebration of the literary and cultural heritage of the Montpelier and Clifton Hill Conservation area at the heart of the city of Brighton and Hove. It is run by the community organisation for the area, the Clifton Montpelier Powis Community Alliance and takes place in our two stunning city centre churches - St Nicholas’ and St Michael's and All Angels.

We have tapped into an extraordinary wealth of local talent, as well as attracting writers and performers with national reputations from further afield, who are delighted by the beauty of the venues and the warmth of their reception. Our thanks to them and all our sponsors without whom
the CMP Festival could not take place.

STOP PRESS We are very sorry indeed to have to cancel Les Enfants du Paradis on Sunday 15 July, due to last minute licensing issues. See Film section for details of change of programme and refunds
