Brightonians have really taken the Heath Quartet to their hearts since their city debut at the 2010 Brighton Festival - this year’s events are sold out! Formed in 2002 and rapidly emerging as an exciting and original voice on the international chamber music scene, they won 1st Prize at the Tromp International Competition in Eindhoven in 2008 and 2nd Prize at the Haydn International Competition in Vienna a year later. We are delighted to have these talented young musicians performing in what is likely to be their last appearance in the city this year. Don’t miss this chance to enjoy their exquisite musicianship. photo Sussie Ahlburg They will play three great Beethoven Quartets: the G major op. 18 No. 2 published in 1801 and known as the Komplimentierquartett (quartet of bows and curtseys), the F major op. 135 (published in 1826, his last complete work) and the C major op. 59 No. 3 (published in 1808, the last of 3 quartets commissionedbyRasumovsky, theRussianambassador). SUPPORTEDBY ‘One of the most interesting young quartets I have heard in recent years.’ (The Strad Magazine)
