Heath Quartet Saturday 6 July 2013 St Nicholas Church

Haydn: String Quartet in G, Op.77 No.1

Tippett: String Quartet No.5 (1990/91)

Mendelssohn: String Quartet No.5 in E flat, Op.44 No.3

We are thrilled to help The Friends of St Nicholas’ bring the Heath Quartet back to St Nick’s for the third year running, for their only 2013 Sussex concert. A sell-out in the 2012 and 2011 CMP Festivals, the Heath love performing at St Nick’s and bring us another stunning programme, which has already won accolades: ‘The chosen quartets . . . are among the more intricate in the repertoire, yet the group played as one instrument, maintaining a consistently tight ensemble. . . .Nestling among all this brilliance were many gentle and perfectly-voiced moments including the trio from Mozart’s minuet and the close of the scherzo of Mendelssohn’s E-flat quartet.’(The News, Portsmouth, May 2013). Last month the Heath Quartet became the first ensemble in 15 years to win the prestigious Royal Philharmonic Society’s Music Award (Young Artists category) for their UK performances in 2012.

They continue to thrill audiences worldwide - catch them while you can! Tickets £20, £15 from Dome Box Office 709709 or www.brightonticketshop
